What you're taking on
Boas give live birth rather than laying eggs, which changes how projects are planned and priced. They grow larger than a ball python and stay reliably calm with routine handling. Locality boas and designer morph lines occupy two very different corners of the market — know which one you are buying into.
- Locality claims backed by lineage, not just a label.
- A clear answer on adult size expectation for that line.
- Litter date and how many siblings were produced.
- No respiratory noise — boas hide illness well.
- Confirm whether it is a true dwarf line or standard.
Keep it right from day one
Calm and deliberate — large, but even-tempered with consistent handling.
A robust climbing branch is appreciated.

Kahl and Sharp strains — no black, high yellow-and-white contrast.
No red/orange pigment — a silvery grey-and-black boa.
Aberrant, connected pattern with clean sides.
Reduced black for cleaner, brighter colour; stacks in the super.
Chaotic, broken pattern unique to every animal.
Albino + Hypo combo — a glowing, high-colour boa (a combo, shown for reference).
