Crocodilians
Decades-long commitments in permits, space and water volume.
On the Exchange
No crocodilian listings are live yet
Founding storefronts are stocking their shelves now. Check back soon, or post what you’re looking for on the wanted board. When a crocodilian is listed, message the seller to arrange payment and shipping.
What you're taking on
Crocodilians are not scaled-up lizards. Even a dwarf caiman needs heated water measured in hundreds of gallons, a dry haul-out, and a keeper who understands that the animal gets more dangerous every year, not less. Most states permit them individually and some prohibit them outright.
- Your permit in hand before you make an offer.
- Realistic adult footprint — dwarf still means 4–5 feet.
- Filtration and heating capacity for the full adult water volume.
- A veterinarian who will actually see a crocodilian.
- An honest answer about who takes it if your situation changes.
Keep it right from day one
Powerful, intelligent and defensive — an exhibit animal with a decades-long commitment, never a pet.
Strong filtration, secure barriers, a state permit, and far more space than most keepers expect.
Clear this before you offer
Most states that allow crocodilians issue a per-animal permit tied to caging specifications and an inspection. Start this before you shop.
Expect an officer to physically verify enclosure, water volume, containment and signage before approving.
Certification gates contact on venomous listings, and sellers verify the buyer can legally receive the animal. The permit on your wall is your responsibility. When in doubt, call your state wildlife agency before you place a deposit.
